The team

The Electromobility Department is responsible for developing electromobility solutions and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develops and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within the Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing organization in place to shape the future!

The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). In this section, they are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.

The battery evaluation & analysis team is responsible for the development of testing methods and data analysis to build world class knowledge in battery design and related technology areas such as electrical, mechanical, thermal and safety.

There are 4 sister teams in this area where you will be part of the team handling the battery evaluation and analysis.

As a member of the battery evaluation & analysis team, you will be part of an approachable organization with skilled teams consisting of passionate people. The role

The main responsibilities in this role will be ownership of creating evaluation/analysis plan for specific projects. You will prepare, execute, and document testing activities on battery cells and modules and report all evaluation & analysis activities on a regular basis. You will also work close to the Battery cell technology/simulation engineers, module design engineers, BMS engineers and verification engineers on specific projects.

Example of job tasks:

  • Develop cell/module evaluation and analysis plan
  • Communicate with verification/test laboratories
  • Organize, plan and manage test activities
  • On-site support and supervising both in-house and external testing laboratories
  • Analyze of test results
  • Create test reports
  • Defining requirements for the battery cell with input from the System Engineers and other stakeholders

Your profile

This role suits a person with strong collaboration and networking skills in combination with an analytic mindset. You find it exciting to work with evaluation and analysis of test data and you are intrigued by the chance to work with the future of electrical vehicles on the deepest “cell level” there is.

Furthermore, we want you to have:

  • MSc in Electro, Chemicals, Physics, Mechanical or equivalent
  • Python and/or Matlab knowledge
  • Basic understanding of electronics/batteries
  • Planning to graduate in the summer of 2024

Bonus if you also have an understanding of:

  • Cell chemistry
  • Battery cell and module standards

Talent program

This position is a part of Hubbau's talent program and is a collaboration between Hubbau and Volvo GTT. During the 12 months of the talent program, you will be employed by Hubbau and work as a consultant in your specific role at Volvo GTT. The ambition is for your employment to smoothly transition to a permanent position at Volvo GTT thereafter. The goal is to provide you with an even more rewarding first year that sets you up for success at Volvo GTT and in your future career. The talent program offers training sessions from specialists within Vinngroup to build up your knowledge base.

The program commences on September 3rd, 2024.

The position is a full-time employment located at Volvo GTTs office at Lundby Gothenburg. We practice ongoing selection, so do not hesitate to express your interest.
