Moleculent is hiring an experienced and driven individual to manage our Manufacturing Operations. As Head of Operations, you will take the lead in refining and optimizing manufacturing processes for Moleculent’s products, which include reagents, consumables, and instruments for research use.

This is a permanent position based in Solna, Stockholm.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As Head of Operations, you are responsible for key functions at the company such as purchasing, manufacturing, and outgoing logistics. You will take the lead in refining and optimizing operational processes for Moleculent’s products, which include reagents, consumables, and instruments for research use. You will manage the operation team, which today consists of five people and be included in the companys management team.

You will work closely with our R&D teams within biochemistry and instrument refining and optimize the in-house manufacturing of reagent kits, instruments, and consumables.

You will provide both operational and technical guidance as well as expertise in implementing successful manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Further develop the operations organization to ensure manufacturing & quality assurance to produce kits and instruments. 

  • Scale up the operations to meet the requirements of the company and customers. 

  • Refinement and optimization of operational processes. 

  • Support the team in producing documentation, protocols, and SOPs for the operations team.

  • Manage the operation budget to meet and forecast expense targets. 

  • Recruit the right competencies and attract top talent.

It is important to be aware that initially, the role will be more hands-on, but as you recruit talent and grow the team, your responsibilities will evolve to become more management-focused. 

QUALIFICATIONS

To fit the role, you have a MSc degree in the field of biology, chemistry and/or engineering, or a closely related field.

You have at least 7-8 years of related industry experience, preferably from work within a life science or diagnostics company with reagent kit and instrument production operations. Additionally, you have at least 3-5 years of managerial experience and experience in recruiting. Fluent written and spoken English and excellent communication and computer skills are a requirement.

The right candidate for the role has strong leadership skills, a collaborative attitude, and the tools to create a high-performing team. You enjoy working in a goal-oriented environment and in projects with cross-functional teams. You have a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and a sense of urgency.

It is important that you have strong teamwork skills and an analytical and pragmatic approach. You are friendly, positive, and fun to work with, and you enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
