About the role

Automation Platform is a Product Development department in FlexLink responsible for mechatronic solutions within industrial automation. The R&D Team Lead - AFS is the people manager for the team of Advanced Flow Solutions, as well as a technical leader for the mechatronic solutions developed by this multidisciplinary engineering team. This role is responsible for the team resources, including recruitment and development of the team members and the adoption and maintenance of tools and processes to fit the team needs.

Main activities and responsibilities

• Coach and support coworkers in their daily work and their long-term growth.
• Create an environment where accountability and technology ownership thrive by providing trust and mandate.
• Lead and support continuous improvement of tools and processes, researching future options and technologies.
• Technical leader of the developed Advanced Flow Solutions, being decision maker in ambiguous environments.
• Responsible for the teams support to other FlexLink functions e.g. SBU’s and IDC.
• Support cross-functional work that aligns the department in best practices and technology selections.
• Support and contribute to the technical roadmap.

What you need to be successful

A bachelor’s degree within a technical area or equivalent in work experience. At least 7 years of professional work experience with multidisciplinary product development including a leading position (technical, project management, or supervisory) also:

• Experience in product development in an agile environment.
• Understanding the stages of developing mechatronic solutions.
• Experience in product development of standardized mechatronic solutions for industrialization i.e. volume production.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
