The Role: We’re seeking passionate Data Engineers to join our newly formed Data Products team. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the founding members of the team, shaping its direction and defining your role from the ground up. In this position, you will be instrumental in designing robust data models, developing and optimising high-performance data pipelines, and ensuring the quality and integrity of our data products. You will also have the chance to explore and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance our data infrastructure. What You’ll Do: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to handle large data volumes from our media brands, including processing billions of daily events from millions of users. - Ensure data products are current, secure, well-documented, and accessible for analytics and real-time applications like ML models or live dashboards. - Contribute to a data product catalogue to enhance data product discoverability within Schibsted Media. - Implement data security and privacy best practices. - Establish and enforce data quality standards to maintain the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data products across all systems. - Proactively identify and address potential data issues, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Who You Are: - Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. - Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing. - Experience delivering production-grade data pipelines using e.g. SQL, Python, and Rest APIs. - Experience with modern data engineering tools, e.g. Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, with a curiosity for emerging technologies. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform is a plus. - Good communication skills with fluency in English. - Collaborative team player who excels in sharing knowledge and working with others to achieve common goals. - Proactive and take ownership of tasks and projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
