Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior System Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.

What You Will Work On:

  • Own and manage the team backlog within the Driver Assistance team.
  • Act as the single point of contact for items entering the team and liaise with external stakeholders.
  • Prioritize the backlog to ensure alignment with team and project goals.
  • Design electrical and electronics systems by identifying system purposes, component interfaces, and system behaviors.
  • Deliver work according to defined methods, expected inputs, and outputs.
  • Lead system engineering efforts in a technical team, playing an active role in project delivery.
  • Drive work from an operational and short-term perspective.
  • Integrate and manage deliveries from other teams.
  • Ensure quality and readiness before release.
  • Participate in specification implementation and verification loops to secure system aspects of the solution.
  • Implement system architecture strategies and roadmaps up to the delivery in the end product.
  • Lead concept investigations with teams and steer exploration of alternatives to establish a system-level concept.
  • Support product managers in clarifying needs and breaking down capabilities/enablers to features.
  • Contribute to the development of technical and system architecture roadmaps.
  • Manage interfaces and non-functional requirements within the scope of the agile release train.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in system design engineering.
  • Experience with complex group tasks/projects and team development.
  • Expertise in electrical and electronics systems design, including component interface and system behavior identification.
  • Proven ability to lead system engineering efforts and manage project deliveries.
  • Strong operational and short-term project management skills.
  • Experience integrating and managing deliveries from other teams.
  • Knowledge in ensuring quality and readiness before system releases.
  • Proficiency in specification implementation and verification loops.
  • Ability to implement system architecture strategies and roadmaps.
  • Strong concept investigation and system-level concept establishment skills.
  • Experience supporting product managers and breaking down capabilities to features.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrable influence within a large organizational network, preferably within the Volvo Group.
  • Experience with Volvo AB is preferred, with a holistic view on differing organizational sizes and project management approaches.
  • Solid T-shaped profile with expert knowledge across a broad-based toolkit.
  • Role model in cutting-edge thinking, lifelong learning, and team development as a master trainer, coach, or mentor.
