For the ​Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE), the focus is ensuring product quality during the development and launch of new automotive products. Travel is required and pro-active support of our plants is ​common sense when needed with the experience we gain.

Key responsibilities

Overall areas of responsibility and activities, but not limited to:

  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, engineering, manufacturing) to align on quality requirements. Facilitate communication and ensure everyone is on the same page. Interface to customer communication regarding quality topics during project phase. Participating in project or escalation meetings, according to the status of the project.


APQP Implementation: 

  • Guide the project through APQP phases and step in and steer when needed (planning, design, validation, launch). 
  • Assess risks related to quality, safety, and compliance. 
  • Establish quality gates at critical milestones, make them happen liaising with stakeholders and help overcome blockers or challenges with a pro-active approach.


Problem Solving and Corrective Actions: 

  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. 
  • Support plants when support is requested.
  • Help and advise pro-actively on improving resolution timing.
  • Address non-conformities within the project scope. 


Continuous Improvement: 

  • Analyse data, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Participate in lessons learned sessions. 


Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Maintain records related to APQP, PPAP, and quality audits. 
  • Report progress to management and stakeholders.

  • Authorized to decide on investments according to role and policy.


Requirements

  • Strong technical ability is required and continues problem solving mode is a must.
  • Learning from doing. Learn from the plants what needs to be implemented as a global standard to support expansions to be successful from the right beginning.
  • Pro-active travel to new sites and exciting sites is needed, work with plant Quality (senior) management as an advisor of the new products heading their way.


Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in quality planning or similar function. 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful quality programs.
  • Natural problem solver, building bridges and good communicator overstepping boundaries to help improve.


Specific skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders. 
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations (if applicable). 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Personal success factors

  • Involved in key roles needed in plants but not found yet. (TECSA support if needed) (moving 8D's when needed) (initiating Governance between teams to understand urgency of needs why we need to do what we do) governance the CPM framework by setting up meetings with BUs to go over lessons learned.
  • Educating CPMs on ownership and responsibilities. (stop teams allocating their responsibilities to AQE team) Tolerances, measurements, drawing information, CC/ SC's etc.
  • Drive APQP deliverables and monitor deliverables.
  • Be loud when we don't meet expectations on deliverables and find ways to meet them.
  • Move escalations and own it by driving continuation, don't stop it when escalated. Extend the limits of boundaries.
