The team

The team at Powertrain Electrics & Electronics develops embedded solutions for full electric/hybrid powertrains, hydrogen technologies, engines, and transmissions for the complete Volvo Group. In practice, they develop the next-generation embedded software for all the propulsion in-house control systems, and they are now in search of new innovative coworkers.

The software platform provides a large set of generic services, like electronic hardware abstraction, central diagnostic functions, and various communication tasks. The development is targeting advanced automotive multicore MCUs and electronics.

The Role:

As an Embedded Software engineer you will be a part of a highly motivated and collaborative team that develops embedded software.

You will develop software in C Code, create scripts in Python, perform unit test and sometimes on vehicles or engines in order to meet system requirements for on-going and future projects. Software solutions are developed in close collaboration with different teams and experts from various parts of the Volvo Powertrain organization.

Your Profile:

You are eager to grow as a professional and have a genuine interest in developing software. You approach challenges with an open mind and proactive approach. With a strong drive and creativity, you provide ideas and bring solutions, from systems design to verification.

We appreciate team players and enjoy teamwork, but you can also work independently.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Embedded Software, Electronics, Physics, or equivalent education.
  • Planning to graduate in the summer of 2024
  • Strong knowledge in software development and embedded systems programming.
  • Skilled in Python and Git
  • Knowledge or interest in different kinds of testing.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

It is considered a plus if you also have:

  • Knowledge with programming in C
  • Knowledge in electronics & microcontrollers
  • An interest in SW infrastructure & SW development tools

Talent Program

This position is a part of Hubbau's talent program and is a collaboration between Hubbau and Volvo GTT. During the 12 months of the talent program, you will be employed by Hubbau and work as a consultant in your specific role at Volvo GTT. The ambition is for your employment to smoothly transition to a permanent position at Volvo GTT thereafter. The goal is to provide you with an even more rewarding first year that sets you up for success at Volvo GTT and in your future career. The talent program offers training sessions from specialists within Vinngroup to build up your knowledge base. 💡

The program commences on September 3rd, 2024.

Other Information

The position is a full-time employment located at Volvo GTTs office in Lundby, Göteborg. We practice ongoing selection, so do not hesitate to express your interest.
