Position overview

You will demonstrate a natural ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement through delivery of ongoing business development initiatives.

You will possess a high level of strong key stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and challenge behaviors. You will also be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in presenting financial information to both finance and non-finance colleagues.

The focus of the role is on Scandinavian countries.

Key Responsibilities and primary tasks

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
• Lead and oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Improving the quality and efficiency of existing reporting, systems, budgeting, and financial planning processes, challenge these and constantly striving for new, innovative, and streamlined solutions.
• Review performance against budget, forecasts, and prior years, identifying the root cause of fluctuations or gaps.
• Lead & Work with your local accounting, controlling & finance teams to ensure reporting of financials are done in timely manner.
• Lead, review & ensure all reporting activities (financial, tax, month end, cash, working capital) are generated timely by your local finance teams.
• Lead finance transformation agenda for Scandinavia and be a positive ambassador for change.
• Identify areas of improvement to financial processes and reporting
• Lead and support local audits as well as the group audit as required.
• Management of bank accounts and any local financing agreements
• Collaborate with Country Directors to integrate financial strategies into commercial initiatives and business development plans.
• Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize revenue generation, pricing strategies, and product/service offerings.
• ROI: Provide Return on Investment analysis to assist in decision making.
• Tender Collaboration: Support tendering processes providing accurate and commercially feasible financials alongside timely responses to customers.
• Projects: Collaborate with the commercial team to provide financial analysis and support for pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and business development initiatives
• Performance Tracking: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for commercial activities, such as sales performance, customer profitability, and product margins, to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Follow up’s: Ensure timely follow-up with commercial team on deal’s in HubSpot and updating of HubSpot.
• Processes Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, leveraging technology and best practices.
• Ad hoc requests: Collaborate with commercial team on Ad hoc requests.
• Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, including Financial Managers, Analysts, and Controllers.
• Set clear performance objectives, provide coaching and mentorship, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders, including Country Directors and Unit Heads, and external stakeholders, including the owners.
• Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on financial matters, providing insights and recommendations to drive business performance and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address strategic challenges and optimize resource allocation across the organization.
• Identify and assess financial risks associated with business activities and market dynamics.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor key financial indicators and performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
• Fulfill common tasks as required to support team and organizational objectives.

Key Qualifications and Requirements

• Education/Training: MBA/MSC degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
• Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in finance roles, preferably in multinational corporations or complex organizations.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate financial strategies with commercial initiatives to drive revenue growth and profitability.
• Experience of working in a SaaS or Subscription or License revenue model business would be advantageous.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functional and geographical boundaries.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools is preferred.
• Systems: Experience of using NetSuite is desirable, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, Previous experience of using reporting tools such as Workday (Adaptive) or Power BI would be of benefit.
