ESAB Gothenburg is the global center of excellence for R&D with appr. 200 employees which covers most functions as R&D, Sales, Strategy, and support functions. We are located on Lindholmen Gothenburg. To strengthen the organization in Gothenburg and Sweden we are now looking for newly graduated students for our trainee program. The purpose of the program is to find our future stars.
Position summary
You will be part of the welding process team the do continuous delivery of high-performance arc-welding machines. We are a part of the ESAB R&D organization for Welding Equipment, a department with competences that span all engineering disciplines. We are a global team, and you will work in an agile setting with colleagues from all over the world.
The welding process team is a true cross-functional team with all competences needed to develop state-of-the-art welding results. The control software is a complex system that includes custom electronics, FPGA, Simulink models and parameterization. We conduct experiments in our high-end lab at Lindholmen to make sure we supply world-class quality in our deliveries.
Responsibilities
As a lead engineer you:
· Possess strong analytical skills to design control systems for robust welding performance
· Design measurement setups and analyse welding performance data
· Implement novel ideas in proof-of-concept
· Communicate with the department and organize data/documentation
· Support continuous delivery
Profile and required competences
· M. Sc or B. Sc in relevant areas is required
· Goal-oriented and organized
· Good communication skills in written/verbal English and Swedish
