Are you our new head designer in XMOR product development and interested in developing a unique concept within the steel industry? Your mission is to drive long term product development and secure that XMOR products are developed in a method based process and tailored to meet precise and high demands. You will be reporting to Business Manager XMOR Mining Tipper. We work globally and need someone based in Europe.

About the position

Special Steels is hiring a new colleague to High Productivity Equipment (HPE global) within Special Steels market development. HPE demonstrates how SSAB’s high strengths steels paired with innovative designs can provide the market with solutions that enhances productivity for the end user through XMOR Buckets, Tippers, and Dump Trays.

You will become a key person in our small team located in Sweden, and India, - which despite its geographical spread work closely together. This head design position will lead design activities into a ready product concept offered to XMOR partners in selected markets. The role requires knowledge, preferably in Tipper’s segment and also in parametric models that takes into consideration innovativeness, patentability, manufacturability, market demands and OEM requirements.

Main responsibilities

• Drive long term product development and product design together with Product Manager.
• Create a strong XMOR brand and premium product offer that cater to market and application needs with efficient and proven design.
• Together with Product Manager prioritize amongst projects and demands from stakeholders and customers
• Support in requests, field investigations and evaluate new ideas, concets and methods.

About You

• You have a master in mechanical or automotive engineering
• Experience from working with CAD, product designs from sketch to launched product.
• Strong skill in parametric modelling and capability to understand the requrements for manufacurability and product performance.
• You are curious, communicative and skilled at buildning networks.
• Experience from working with Vault is a plus.
