You will be part of Smart Power, which is a division within the Electrification business area. The business unit has global responsibility for the development and manufacture of large contactors, push buttons, soft starters and machine safety products.

Our factory is located in the Örjan industrial area in Västerås. About 150 people work in the production, most of whom work as fitters, operators and material handlers.

As a production employee with us, you will have a varied and free job with many practical elements. You get to contribute to our production development and, above all, continue to grow within the role, the department and the entire ABB team.

The role reports to the Production Manager for the current episode

Your responsibilities

• Work as a Machine Operator in Automated Manufacturing Processes
• Manual and automatic assembly and assembly of parts on our various products
• Testing of our pre-assembled products
• Material handling: work with incoming goods, packing and distribution of materials to the different parts of the factory
• Most departments have a so-called paced production, you rotate between different tasks and shifts are common

Your background

• Basically, you have a high school education combined with good experience from previous assembly work
• Interest in technology and preferably good knowledge of electrical safety and soldering
• Experience and knowledge in automation and production technology as well as previous experience of Lean work are strong merits
• Possession that forklift license is meritorious
• As a person, you need to be committed, flexible, adaptable and stress-resistant as well as have a high ability to collaborate
• We expect you to be quality-conscious and meticulous
