We are looking for a junior Buyer to strengthen the area of Services within Indirect Procurement at Scania! Apply and join our high-performing purchasing team in a challenging and exciting business environment!

The team

Our multi-cultural team consist of 10 purchasers with a great mix of backgrounds, experiences and competences. We enjoy solving problems both within our area and together with our cross-functions and always strive to find the best solutions for Scania.

The role

Services is one of our most dynamic areas, with high impact on overall cost and impact on delivery.

We are challenging the status quo in many areas right now and are trying to find new innovative solutions with our suppliers and cross functions.

In your role as Junior Commodity Buyer you will support your more experienced colleagues with various operational tasks. By being involved in all aspects of the procurement work, this is a perfect start of your purchasing career with great learning opportunities. Joining as a Buyer provides a fantastic opportunity to gain insight in the area we specialize in.

Your main task will be to;

  • support strategic buyers with different business topics, analysis, sourcing preparations and supplier governance.
  • coordinate cross-functional activities
  • manage administrative tasks such as order placement, price updates, invoice handling, etc.
  • Investigate and support the implementation of improvement activities within our Business responsibility
  • actively developing existing and future suppliers in keeping up with Scania’s high standards.

As we are part of both Volkswagen and the Traton Group, you will also have a big global network and you will be supporting in creating and executing on our global strategies together.

One of your colleagues will be your mentor to ensure you have a smooth start in your new role and necessary support.

Your profile

We are looking for a recent graduate with a degree in engineering or Business economics, or relevant experience from Scania or similar roles in other companies and viewing this job as the next step in your career.

Desirable qualifications

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience
  • commercial mindset and interested in both technology and business
  • analytical, structured and ability to work independently in alignment with others
  • flexible and supportive and ability to cooperate with many stakeholders
  • positive and open minded, you see chances instead of obstacles
  • clear, professional and persuasive when communicating and with good presentation skills
  • fluent in spoken and written English

Our entire team operates from Scania's procurement office in Södertälje.
