As an integral part of our operations team located in Boden, your role will involve the design and engineering of sophisticated automation systems for our plant. We're in search of a candidate who brings a wealth of experience in managing and executing large-scale, complex, and innovative automation projects. Your background should showcase a series of successful implementations of cutting-edge automation systems within pertinent industries.

We are hiring Automation Engineers specialized in:

• Electric Arc Furnace (EAF)
• Hot Rolling Mill
• Cold Rolling Mill
• Galvanizing Line

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing server computers, modeling setups, reference distribution systems, data management systems, communication systems, and other control equipment.
• Collaborating closely with maintenance and operations teams in a dynamic environment to foster a safety-conscious and efficient workforce.
• Providing education on the functionality and maintenance of automation systems to the electrical department and others.
• Assisting plant operations and collaborating with quality/IT departments to achieve production objectives.
• Offering support to technicians across various departments to ensure the reliability of the plant's automation system.
• Leading the design, development, implementation, and procurement of both hardware and software for automation improvement projects, and offering support for projects across other disciplines.

Qualifications:

• A strong commitment to safety and proactive attitude towards implementing it within a team setting.
• A focus on quality and detail, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• A high level of motivation, a hands-on approach, and a willingness to work additional hours or provide on-call support as needed.
• Extensive automation experience within the metals industry.
• Proficiency in server and network device configuration and maintenance.
• Experience with PLC programming (Siemens preferred), data acquisition/analysis, and HMI programming.
• Advanced programming skills, including C++, C#, Java, database administration, Visual Studio, MS Windows server/system administration, MS productivity tools, TCP/IP communications.
• Familiarity with SMS equipment is preferred.
• Experience with startups and/or greenfield projects is highly regarded.
