Founded in 1927, the Volvo Group is committed to driving prosperity and shaping the future landscape through sustainable transport, mobility, and infrastructure solutions. By offering trucks, buses, construction equipment, power solutions for marine and industrial applications, financing and services that increase our customers’ uptime and productivity. Our headquarters are in Gothenburg, Sweden. Volvo Group shares are listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match. This is us, your new colleagues We are the Integration and Simulation Group, a part of the Vehicle Software Factory at Volvo Group Trucks Technology in Gothenburg! We have the goal to ensure that we have the structure, framework, and knowledge to build and verify the embedded system, from single component up to full system. We achieve this by creating the development pipelines for our embedded code, simulations and test structures that enable continuous integration and delivery. Why do we do that? Our vision is to be the most desired and successful transport solution provider in the world. To get there we need to understand technology we have not used before, build solutions that have never been built. We need to work with the mentality that we develop to learn, learn to reach further than our goals. We see that the most important key to this learning is automation of everything and it’s in this that you’re going to help us! To reach this, we strongly believe in self-organizing teams where the prioritization and technical solutions are set by the ones having the most competence in the area. About the role Software development it’s all about testing and instant feedback. Even if for embedded software, some of the testing needs to be done on hardware, we believe most of it can be done in a virtual environment. Our aim is that every developer should have endless virtual trucks available to test their software instantly. Your mission together with the team is to design, develop and maintain our virtual test environment. It includes connecting the embedded software, simulations and test as well as securing the automation to have this running continuously for every little change that is made. This you will do in a great agile team where continuous learning is a key cornerstone. We work in a big complex software environment; learning a new part of the system and taking on new areas are something you prefer over sitting with one single application. Who are you? We don’t know you yet, but we believe that you are a structured and solution-oriented person who enjoys working cross-functionally and building relationships. Since we work in close cooperation with our stakeholders and other teams, you are a communicative team player with a high degree of personal responsibility. Strong interest and passion for coding, software development and drive make you to a natural leader of challenging tasks facing change with curiosity. Expect that we do not have the answers, but we will be happy to find out together with you. For you it’s given that everything starts with a test! With your customer-focused approach, you are passionate about creating the best customer solutions and experiences. Most of all, you believe in the power of collaboration between diverse teams to bring new and innovative ideas to the table. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent education/experience. * Solid knowledge of the Python programming language. C/C++, C# is as well what will come most in handy. * Some experience of working with build and test systems within software development (CI/CD). * Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Background within the automotive industry and/or working with simulations is meritorious. It is considered a plus if you have experience from working with AUTOSAR Standards. Who we are and what we believe in Our focus on Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity allows each of us the opportunity to bring our full authentic self to work and thrive by providing a safe and supportive environment, free of harassment and discrimination. We are committed to removing the barriers to entry, which is why we ask that even if you feel you may not meet every qualification on the job description, please apply and let us decide. Applying to this job offers you the opportunity to join Volvo Group. Every day, across the globe, our trucks, buses, engines, construction equipment, financial services, and solutions make modern life possible. We are almost 100,000 people empowered to shape the future landscape of efficient, safe and sustainable transport solutions. Fulfilling our mission creates countless career opportunities for talents with sharp minds and passion across the group’s leading brands and entities. Group Trucks Technology are seeking talents to help design sustainable transportation solutions for the future. As part of our team, you’ll help us by engineering exciting next-gen technologies and contribute to projects that determine new, sustainable solutions. Bring your love of developing systems, working collaboratively, and your advanced skills to a place where you can make an impact. Join our design shift that leaves society in good shape for the next generation.
