The Vehicle Motion & Thermal Management Technology stream leads and develops complete vehicle motion- and thermal control solutions for Safe, Sustainable and Efficient transportation.  We are currently looking for a System Engineer who together with other System Engineers and Architects in the Vehicle Motion Management organization contribute to our Vehicle Motion Management products.  Who are you? We believe you are creative and have the mindset to constantly learn and improve to have the best solutions for our customers. You have several years of hands-on experience in systems engineering and architecture-related work. Furthermore, you have good knowledge in Automotive standards and practices related to Function Safety and Cyber Security.  As a person, you are a team player with a positive mindset, and you have the willingness to effectively build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization. Your curiosity and interest in constant self-development will make you a great professional within the Volvo Group. Relevant Experience: * Strong experience in embedded Electrical & Electronics systems, systems engineering and architecture related work preferably in the automotive industry. * Experience in function and software development in real-time embedded systems. * Good knowledge of modern architectural design principles and patterns. * Knowledge of Automotive standards and practices related to Functional Safety and Cyber Security. * Knowledge of in-vehicle communication technologies (LIN, CAN, Ethernet, diagnostic protocol, SOME/IP etc.). * Basic knowledge of SW platforms such as Classic and Adaptive Autosar, Linux. * Knowledge of commercial vehicle applications and vehicle dynamics systems is a merit. Meritorious to have: * C or CE Driver License What’s in it for you? As the System Engineer, in the Vehicle Motion Management Agile Release Train. You have the following responsibilities: •    Implement system architecture strategies and roadmaps up to the delivery in the end-product. •    Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and system architecture roadmaps. •    Design electrical and electronics systems by identifying the purpose and aim of the system, the component interface, and system behaviors. •    Delivers according to defined methods, expected inputs and outputs. •    Lead system engineering in a technical team and play an active role in the delivery. •    Lead concept investigation with teams and take the concept for approval through different decision forums. •    Request technical concepts and system solutions. Manage the interfaces and non-functional requirements within the scope of, for example, agile release train. •    Steer exploration of alternatives to establish a system level concept together with teams. •    Participate in specification implementation and verification loops to secure system aspects of the solution. •    Secure that system and non-functional requirements are correctly implemented. •    Investigating system level or truck level issues and providing right solutions. •    Review System level concepts with Product Owners (PO), Component Owner (CO) and Function Owner (FO). •    Documenting of Software requirements, use cases etc, in system engineering tool. •    Lead critical issues problem solving in collaboration with the supplier’s and within the team. •    Contribute to continuous improvement on tools, work methods and the development process.
