We build, provide, and operate a highly secure run-time ecosystem for functions and applications serving our connected cars, and their users. We aim to optimize functional and organic growth by using standard cloud technologies with high level of synergies and re-use. With our car cloud solution, we provide cloud infrastructure, platform core & services to support software development lifecycle (DevOps) by providing tools for fast feedback & built-in quality. Cloud technologies is therefore of paramount importance. We are responsible for developing and maintaining the car cloud platform as well as car-related functions running on the platform. We have architects and teams specializing in different technology areas in the end-2-end connectivity chain, and we are now looking for an Architect for our cloud platform, with the capability of having a holistic view and continuously drive the architectural evolution What you´ll do You will be a part of a network of architects across Volvo Cars, representing the Car Cloud Platform. You will, based on close collaboration with stakeholders, the Product Manager, the Product Owners, other Architects and the developing teams, be responsible for: Developing and leading the implementation of architectural design patterns, methods and processes for cloud technologies Drive the cloud arena, where we evaluate and take architectural decisions Evaluate and recommend suppliers and tools in the area Develop an end-2-end architecture for car connectivity Work closely with business and strategy and develop architecture solutions to meet their vision Define and drive future technical roadmap for the Connected Car Cloud Create documents, specifications according to which solution is defined, created and managed Help in defining and solving non-functional requirements Take part in architectural reviews and support teams with architectural work Tech we use daily within the ART: SW Language: Java Frameworks: Spring, Spring Boot Cloud Platform: AWS, Azure Infrastructures: Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), Istio Databases: Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Redis Log: Splunk Middleware: Kafka, JMS, ActiveMQ-Artemis Tools: GitLab, Kustomize, Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty, ArgoCD, Task and Project/Code Management: GIT, Jira, Methodologies: Agile (Scrum, Kanban), DevOps Other: WebService (REST, gRPC), Junit Testing, Maven Do you fit the profile? For you to fully enjoy this opportunity, we believe that you have a background in software or information technology with at least a Master’s Degree or equivalent. You have a long professional experience in cloud technologies and an excellent knowledge in and hands-on experience of software development and software architecture. You have a proven ability to analyze and make recommendations for technical design, to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders and to drive continuous improvements. As you would be working closely both with our Leadership team including the Product Manager, our stakeholders, and our DevOps-teams, we believe you prefer working together in the office rather than remotely. And, since you will be working together with others both to set the way forward but also to see it through, we believe you have strong communication and collaboration skills. You embrace teamwork, collaboration and are eager to learn and develop new competences. We also expect you to be on top of technology evolution within cloud infrastructure and software development and provide new ideas to continuously improve the product and our processes.
