The Labour Affairs, Compliance and Project team in Volvo Cars is responsible for labour law and human rights for our own operations globally. Human rights are a core component of our Code of Conduct and People Policy as well as in our Code of Conduct for Business Partners. Safeguarding human rights is also part our Sustainability strategy and based on this ambition and increased expectations from external stakeholders as well as emerging new legislations we are on a journey to further increase our efforts to identify, assess, cease, prevent, mitigate, and remediate human rights risks. Due to our increased ambitions, we need to strengthen our team with an additional team member. The position is based in Gothenburg. What you will do  We are now looking for a strategic, collaborative and results driven person to join our team as a labour rights expert. You will, •  Continuously identify and assess human rights risks/impacts by consolidating input from internal and external sources. •  Perform People Policy assessments and risk workshops at our different global sites. •  Address identified risks/impacts and following up on results. •  Consolidate and report identified, assessed risks.  •  Perform human rights due diligence assessment from a labour rights perspective prior to new establishments, joint ventures, and other specific events. •  Act as a subject matter expert cross functionally, support, and train other functions in human rights responsibilities. •  Collaborate with human rights leads from different functions and the Human Rights Compliance function within Compliance & Ethics •  Engage with stakeholders, Non-Government Organization (NGO: s) and their representatives. • Contribute to continuous improvement. •  Perform internal and external reporting of status and progress of labour rights work. What you will bring •    University degree within human resources or similar, with focus on human rights. •    Knowledgeable in Swedish labour law and experienced in human resources practices and processes relevant for a digitally driven and global organization.  •    Knowledgeable in due diligence and human rights frameworks.   •    Embody and demonstrate a high level of integrity and ability to build trust. •    Balance strategic and operational work day-to-day. •    Ability to work structured and systematic.  •    Team player with the ability to work independently and to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams. •    You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and you are fluent in English.
