We provide state-of-the-art research, engineering, product planning and project execution of complete products, for all Volvo group customers. Responsibilities include on Embedded Software Engineer is developing control strategies and embedded Software for After-Treatment Technology related functions for the powertrain system for the Volvo Group. The job suits engineers that enjoy combining control and monitoring control theory and measurement data analysis with performing hands-on testing. Our team promotes sustainability by not only creating aftertreatment systems that are emissions compliant globally and maximize customer uptime, but also by being able to diagnose the effectiveness/health of our systems over the lifetime of the product. What you will do As an Associate Embedded Software Engineer for EATS you will be responsible for various software’s developments to support our new engines and aftertreatment development to meet new emissions legislations or deliver a customer specific solution globally. You will also be responsible for developing real time and post processing algorithms used to analyze machine data for failure prediction. You will develop algorithms used to analyze machine performance, efficiency, and application metrics, and evaluate alternative Machine Learning tools and models. It will be within your role to collect and evaluate large data, to test new software functions together with the control software development team, to optimize your field of responsibility in the most efficient way. Your responsibilities will also be to: * Investigate embedded software problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution, and document results. * Apply and support the improvement of embedded/functional software development processes and tools. Processes include model-based development, coding, compiling and test. Tools include Matlab/Simulink, integration tools, static analysis tools, compilers and Software/hardware in the loop test tools. Who are you? You will be expected to perform a variety of tasks in a highly technical environment as part of a team. Our teams are hardworking, and members are supportive of each other. Attention to Detail:  Monitoring adherence to standards and actively checking for accuracy of data received or generated before passing it on. Qualifications * Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. * 0-2+ years of functional software development experience. * Experience with controls software development in Matlab/Simulink. * Good knowledge of Creta, ATI Vision, Matlab, Python and C-programming experience is advantageous. * Strong communication and presentation skills. * Innovative mindset with customer focus. * Excellent knowledge in English, both spoken and written.
