We are looking for an experienced Technology Innovation Manager to join us in our mission to create the world’s greenest battery. As part of the Technology Quality team based in Skellefteå, you will be a key player in contributing to building one of the first large-scale European battery factories. You will manage a team of engineers and technical experts who will find, develop, and trial new concepts and technologies that can be industrialized to improve efficiency and capability within the production environment.

This role may require occasional international travel.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of engineers, data scientists and technical experts, creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Meet with external technology vendors and negotiate legal terms including the statement of work, allowing us to evaluate or co-develop their product.
  • Design technology trials to verify the feasibility of concept industrialization and analyze algorithmic performance.
  • Encourage and empower team members to generate their own ideas and collaborate with the Intellectual Property team to file patents.
  • Work with senior quality management to identify business needs and create a plan for how to meet their requirements.
  • Identify potential risks associated with the innovation projects and ensure mitigations are in place to address them.
  • Establish project KPIs and milestones. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a high throughput manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Product Engineer, or similar.

Specific skills

  • Expert user of SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau, etc.) preferred but not essential.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to identify business objectives and set clear, measurable goals for the team to achieve the vision.
