In the light of the growing service business opportunities in greater Scandinavia as well as the ongoing contract for servicing H2 Green Steel, the first climate neutral steel plant in northern Sweden, SMS group is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to the site in Boden. Position Description The primary goal for the Supply Chain Manager is to establish, manage and processing procurement and purchasing demands for SMS Group on the Boden site. You will investigate, develop local and national sourcing channels of indirect and direct materials, services and build supplier relationships for the metallurgical plant and rolling mill equipment and components. The Supply Chain Manager will work within a global Supply Chain Matrix and report to SMS Group´s Site Director Operation & Maintenance. Main responsibilities: • Investigation, development and management of supplier relations in Sweden/Nordic (primarily for suppliers of technical services, metallurgical plant and rolling mill equipment and technical products and services) • Close cooperation with headquarters strategic and operational purchasing as well as with the project leading business unit Technical Service • Conduction price evaluations for the determination of the total cost of ownership (TCO) • Conducting of negotiations on prices and terms of conditions, in coordination with the international purchasing organization • Planning and control of delivery- and quality- assuring measures in coordination with the Project Management • Tracking of market and price trends • Active participation and communication with the global SMS Group Supply Chain and Technical Service network • Setting up process, supportive systems and structures to run a local Supply Chain (purchasing, logistics/warehousing, quality) Qualifications • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in mechanical engineering and or with a commercial background • Significant and provable work experience in purchasing of technical equipment, components and services • Experience in dealing with suppliers • Knowledge of country and industry specific supplier/supply market • Independent and methodological approach to work • Good communication and negotiations skills • Knowledge and experience in MS Office and SAP/ERP system • Willingness to travel within Nordic Region and Europe • Excellent command in English, both verbal and written, knowledge of Swedish language, knowledge in German language would be an asset • Willingness to learn new technologies and to develop new skills required • Strong organizational skill, attention to detail and hands on mentality About SMS Group SMS group is a global active group of companies with a 150 years history that stands for future-oriented technology and outstanding service, combining plant engineering and process knowledge with profound expertise in automation & digitalization, for the metals industry.
