About this opportunity

The Commercial Legal Affairs Team is a division within Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance and the head of the unit reports to the Chief Legal Officer of the Ericsson Group. The team is mainly responsible for the commercial legal support to Ericsson's Business Areas and Group Functions.

The role as Senior Group Legal Counsel requires shown integrity, extensive commercial legal skills and competence, thriving in dynamic environments, very good understanding of the business, strong communication and persuasion skills, and an ability to influence and lead at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders in the Ericsson Group. The Senior Group Legal Counsel will be expected to independently support internal clients worldwide and uphold a high service level in doing so.

What you will do

  • Provide strategic and technical legal and risk advice in execution of the Ericsson business objectives;
  • Discuss risk assessments and mitigation with internal stakeholders, GFLA experts and your manager;
  • Provide highly efficient and high quality legal support to identified Ericsson clients, including supporting, handling and leading legally complex transactions;
  • Draft, review and negotiate various kinds of legal documents and business agreements, including driving strong contract terms in partnership with relevant stakeholders;
  • Provide business structuring and model support;
  • Facilitate the relevant commercial operations of and assist the clients with appropriate risk analysis;
  • Be a contact person for one or more identified clients and as such manage and coordinate legal support vis-à-vis such clients;
  • Develop internal group policies, strategies and work tools;
  • Manage and control external legal resources;
  • Assist and assume responsibility in other matters as needed, within the field of responsibility of Commercial Legal Affairs;
  • Contribute as a member of the Commercial Legal Affairs Team in team related activities and matters.

You will bring

  • Master of Law degree (or law qualification of equivalent standing, e.g. LLB, JD).
  • At least ten (10) years working experience as a commercial, technology and/or corporate lawyer, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Extensive experience of practicing qualified IT related commercial law and preferably international experience.
  • Very high level of integrity and independence.
  • Good knowledge and skills within the relevant legal areas, with shown ability to understand and support business and ability to find, lead and motivate changes.
  • Ability to handle any counterparty in negotiations and otherwise, and to support and work with high- and top-level managers.
  • Interest in and understanding of business strategies and goals along with proven financial understanding and awareness.
  • Good networking ability and great interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to clearly articulate complex issues and manage internal stakeholders, external counsel and counterparties.
  • Driven team player who initiates and drives positive change.
