Company Overview

Sparv Embedded AB specializes in developing hardware and software for innovative atmospheric measurements. Utilizing weather balloons and UAVs, we integrate a range of in-situ sensors, as well as create our own temperature and humidity sensors. We strive to minimize the size, weight, and power consumption of our products. Our main clients are universities in need of sensor solutions for environmental research.

Role & Responsibilities

We're looking to improve and quantify the data quality of our sensors across various projects, from ground level up to altitudes of 10,000 meters. Parameters include temperature, humidity, pressure and GPS readings. Example tasks are calibration procedures, solar radiation correction algorithms and uncertainty estimations.

You will also participate in the design and programming of our products, where your domain knowledge will complement our software and hardware experience.

As we’re a small company, you have rich opportunities to shape and develop your role.

Who You Are

Background: You likely have a physics degree followed by experience in academia or industry, specifically in developing or evaluating sensor solutions. Experience in atmospheric research field projects would be ideal.

Subject knowledge: Proficiency in signal processing, statistics, thermodynamics and metrology is essential. Programming knowledge (C/C++ or Python) is highly valued. Knowledge of analog electronics and meteorology is a plus but not required.

Skills: You're capable of structuring scientific investigations, driving them forward and writing scientifically sound reports. Curiosity and business interest are useful traits.

What You Will Do

  • Advise our product development from a metrological perspective
  • Advise sensor calibration methodology
  • Design experiments for sensor characterization and analyze their outcomes
  • Author scientific reports and stay informed of the relevant scientific field
  • Do sensor-related programming

Work Arrangement

We prefer a full-time position on-site in Linköping, Sweden. With lower preference, we can also consider remote arrangements, at least initially. The language is Swedish or English.
