High level purpose of function

As a Commissioning Engineer for Construction, you will carry out the co-ordination of the Process Utilities Commissioning and associated services within the Construction scope of the project, including co-ordination of the commissioning of services to the site of the Northvolt large-scale battery factory being built in Northern Sweden. Your responsibilities will cover steering the execution phase of testing and commissioning works. You will coordinate with the Construction Commissioning Manager to ensure integration of your scope with the overall Northvolt Ett program commissioning.

Key responsibilities

Overall areas of responsibility and activities

· Lead the Commissioning and Completions Plan for the Construction scope and Utilities on a site level.

· Coordinate the systemisation of the work scope with the delivery teams, contractors, equipment vendors and partners.

· Establish a strong relationship with the main contractors, support vendors and sub-contractors to generate a cooperative working philosophy focused on project delivery.

· Engage with the wider NV project, Operations and Maintenance functions to ensure their needs are managed and smooth handover of plant and equipment takes place.

· Co-ordinate with main and sub-contractors, the planning and execution of commissioning activities to meet the scheduled milestone delivery of the building services and Process Utilities.

· Day-to-day execution, monitoring and control of completion and commissioning at site.

· Monitor commissioning and report KPIs and progress as directed by Northvolt.

· Ensure all relevant environmental, health and safety standards are being followed, encouraging a positive health and safety culture.

· Arrange handover of all relevant documentation, BIM model and required certification including both NV and legal requirements.

· Provide support to the Program Commissioning team (within scope) to support the plant commissioning and Performance Tests to meet Northvolt Ett contractual completion targets.

Requirements

Educational requirements or other qualifications or competences which are important in order to fulfill the job

Qualifications/education/experience

· A relevant university degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar) or higher education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

· 5+ years working experience of relevant industrial experience of completions and commissioning management, in High tech Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or Data Centre projects.

· Must have worked in multi-cultural environment.

· Fluency in written and spoken English.

· Fluency in Swedish and working knowledge of French is an advantage but not essential.

Specific skills:

· Track record as commissioning Lead driving large scale building commissioning in the high-tech Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or Data centre sectors.

· Experience in both Mechanical and Electrical process utilities commissioning is required.

· CSA (Commissioning specialists Association) grading is an advantage.

· Knowledge of Swedish building regulatory environment.
