ValueOne is looking for a Category Manager with experience from procurement of technical material and equipment for a consultant assignment at an international industrial company, market leading in its field. You will be based in Västerås or Ludvika. Initially, you will be employed by ValueOne with the intention that the role will transition to a permanent employment with our client.

The role  

As Category Manager of technical material and equipment you will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing global sourcing strategies and initiatives in collaboration with different stakeholders. You will lead strategic activities within your assigned categories, manage strategic relationships with international suppliers, and negotiate agreements. It is possible to work remotely part of the time.

Main tasks:

  • Lead strategic activities for your assigned categories
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies
  • Identify and select new suppliers
  • Negotiate, implement and manage contracts
  • Conduct spend analysis
  • Initiate and implement cost reduction actions
Experience and competencies  

The ideal candidate for this position should have minimum five years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing or procurement. We prefer if you have an academic degree in Supply Chain Management, Electronics, Mechanics, or other relevant area. You are a skilled communicator and communicate without difficulty in English, both written and verbal. For success in the position good networking and stakeholder management skills is an asset. Analytical skills combined with a structured and process-oriented mindset is preferred. Furthermore, you are a team player who is also able to take on own initiatives and drive activities.
