Our mission is to build a ”first in class” gigafactory that transforms Volvo Cars into a full EV (Electrical Vehicle) manufacturer - using the most sustainable and innovative methods in construction, whilst achieving the highest level of trust with all service providers to perform the safest, fastest, cost-effective, About the role In this position you will play key project-integrator role in our multidisciplinary Facility Engineering Organization in building the new Gigafactory. As Instrumentation & Control Engineer you will pro-actively support and assist the I&C Engineering Lead along the way and contribute on successful delivery of the assigned I&C design package. You will have full ownership over portions of the I&C design development process with responsibilities to prepare, collect, review, register, distribute and manage wide variety of design documents. You will make sure that all project members are well connected and informed, by developing close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. With assistance of the Instrumentation & Control Engineering lead you will: - Manage I&C design consultants by establishing the deliverable list for specific design packages, organizing the plan and key milestones to ensure on time commitments are met to successfully drive the project. - Manage the quality of the design deliverables, ensuring the systems are aligned to the project specification requirements to the project. - Assist during the installation efforts answering Request for Information from contractors or construction in a timely manner to avoid productivity loss due to design decisions. - Help the other design disciplines providing and anticipating cross functional data that allows a fluid execution of the overall plant design. - Assist the Facility team with system completion requirements for the proper transfer of responsibilities from the installation phase to operations. - Promote a positive and constructive working relationship with the design consultants on behalf of NOVO Energy. - Become a binder of the EPCM team, supporting on developing the organization accordingly to Company mission and supporting hand in hand team members. Your Background We believe that you have general knowledge of Instrumentation and Control Engineering execution process, which is needed to effectively support multidisciplinary engineering team along the way of project development. You understand complexity of the program and you are well organized in order to effectively implement, manage and track multiple parallel workstreams associated to engineering process. You are brilliant at communicating with wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external – with the great ability to assist on solution development, evaluate the problem and letting the project progress at its highest performance. Essential - BSc degree in within relevant field: Construction management-, civil-, structural-, mechanical-, chemical-, electrical- or architectural engineering. - Knowledge and experience in electrical and electronics measurements. - Knowledge over instrumentation component design. - Minimum 3 years of professional experience on comparable construction position. - Experience in large-scale construction projects with considerable multidisciplinary complexity, experience within general contractor or EPC organization environment is an added value. - Excellent written and spoken English. Must have the ability to discuss technical topics with a variety of audiences – contractors, engineers, and members of various divisions within organization. Swedish is a plus. Desirable - Experience from battery production process or similar is highly preferred, as the role involves studying the measurement and control of process variables (e.g., pressure, temperature, humidity, flow pH, force and speed, etc.), and the design and implementation of systems that incorporate them. - Experience from Greenfield Projects is highly preferred. - Experience from Swedish construction sites is preferred. - Experience in a multicultural environment, adaptable and open-minded.
