Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Process Quality Technician to join our passionate Quality team to support our electrode production line in Northvolt Ett, our Gigafactory located in Skellefteå.

The Process Quality Technician will be in charge of product quality compliance in our production line. You will be responsible for confirming key quality attributes of intermediate products and processes, identifying and responding to non-conformity issues in production.

The Process Quality Technician will work closely with production staff and Process Quality Engineers. While working in shifts is not required at this point, this situation is expected to change as operations ramp up. Flexibility and willingness to do overtime to cover production peaks is expected. Primary goal for this position is to help ensure quality along all production steps and product outcome to create a stable process environment during production.

In general, you have experience in quality control and relevant technical applications- previous experience in a production environment is a plus. Moreover, you are skilled in implementing production quality principles and methodology.

You will be responsible for ensuring that production processes and products meet the Northvolt's and Customers' quality specifications, defining in-line problems and recommending and following-up on improvements.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Follow the controls defined in the Control Plan
  • Inspect rejects and suspect parts from the production line. Document as appropriate. Raise and close Non-Conformities
  • Escalate when a critical defect occurs and conduct first-level-investigation on the root cause, including facilitate special/non standardized sample inspection
  • Participation in containment actions
  • When applicable, identify new failure type to be included in Failure Catalogue (FC)
  • Training operators in quality related tasks
  • Make sure that material that should be scrapped is correctly labeled and communicate the decision so the responsible can execute the scrapping action. Make sure that quarantine area is in orderly condition
  • Participate in pulse / shop floor meetings and in the shift hand over
  • Engage in regular line audits as scheduled

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor ́s degree (or technical school degree) in Chemical or Material Engineering or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience from quality control and assurance on the manufacturing shop floor
  • Experience in yearly, monthly, weekly and up to date reporting
  • Experience with high volume serial manufacturing processes
  • Expert in non-conformity management and problem solving methodology
  • Hands on proven experience in SPC and process capabilities
  • Specific knowledge of quality management systems, e.g. ISO 9001, IATF16949, TQM
  • Curious, technically educated and preferably with a strong business awareness
