Do you want to shape the future of rare disease medicine? Chiesi Global Rare Diseases is seeking a Principal Scientist in Biologics to join our Discovery & Early Research team. This is a dedicated leadership role within biologics drug development — a unique opportunity to drive scientific strategy in a cutting-edge biologics program and help shape our GRD pipeline.
As the Early Research representative on global project core teams and Pipeline Strategy teams, you'll drive nonclinical strategy for biologics programs, from early research through candidate development. You'll work closely with non-clinical, clinical, CMC, and business development, lead research teams, and help define the direction of Chiesi GRD's pipeline - while building external partnerships and representing the company at conferences and in strategic collaborations.
Key responsibilities include:
About you
You hold a PhD degree in a relevant field, combined with at least five years of industrial experience or a strong academic track record with a clear and solid background within biologics drug development. Preferably you have experience across multiple biologics treatment modalities (e.g. gene editing, gene therapy, recombinant proteins).
You have a solid foundation in general biochemistry as well as molecular and cellular biology, and hands-on experience in animal disease model generation, biopharmaceutical candidate production, analysis, and characterisation.
You have led non-clinical research project teams and have been exposed to strategic decision-making at Global Core or Project Team level. You are a dynamic individual who thrives in a scientific environment, spotting opportunities where others see obstacles and you are a strong communicator and networker who manages competing priorities with clarity and purpose.
