About the Role

Are you passionate about working at the intersection of biological science and commercial manufacturing? On behalf of AstraZeneca, Randstad Life Sciences is looking for an ambitious and experienced Drug Product Specialist (Process Scientist) to join the Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) team in Södertälje.

This is a full-time consulting assignment where you will be employed by Randstad Life Sciences and work on-site at AstraZeneca's facility in Södertälje.

You will be responsible for the scientific and technical aspects of new product introductions, technology transfers, and commercial manufacturing support within drug product processes (e.g., formulation, aseptic filling, lyophilization, and visual inspection).

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Transfer: Lead scientific aspects in new product introductions and technology transfers for drug product processes.
• Process Robustness: Ensure commercial process robustness through risk assessments, technical studies, data analysis, and scientific recommendations.
• Validation & Maintenance: Lead process performance qualification (PPQ) and contribute to product maintenance.
• Operational Support: Provide product-specific technical support to ongoing commercial operations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Engineering, QA, QC, Supply Chain, and global teams.
• Compliance: Contribute to GMP documentation and regulatory submissions.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Education: MSc or higher in biotechnology, chemical engineering, pharmacy, or another relevant life science/engineering discipline.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in biologics, pharmaceutical development, technology transfer, or commercial manufacturing, with a focus on drug products.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in one or more areas: formulation, aseptic filling, lyophilization, or visual inspection.
• Language: Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.

Desirable Qualifications

• PhD or advanced specialization in a relevant field.
• Previous experience at AstraZeneca.
• Experience working in global and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of single-use systems, isolator technology, or finished pack manufacturing.
• Experience with project management, digital transformation, or AI applications in manufacturing.

Important Information

• Consulting Details: Full-time contract assignment through Randstad Life Sciences based on-site at AstraZeneca in Södertälje.

• Compliance: Contribute to GMP documentation and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• PhD or advanced specialization in a relevant field.
• Previous experience working at AstraZeneca.
• Proven experience working in global and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of single-use systems, isolator technology, or finished pack manufacturing.
• Previous project management experience.
• Understanding of digital transformation and AI applications in manufacturing, process monitoring, or technical support activities.
