The Cost Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, transparent, and compliant cost management across our global shipping operations. The role encompasses activities across two key areas:
· Cost Control & Performance Analysis – validating the accuracy of voyage cost estimates, performing variance analysis, ensuring proper invoice coding, and supporting financial reporting quality.
· Invoice Verification & Cost Accuracy Assurance – validating port- and cargo-related cost invoices, ensuring correct cost coding, and supporting accurate voyage closing.
Depending on business needs, individuals in this role may perform responsibilities in either one or both areas.
The role works closely with global stakeholders—including Trade Performance, Accounts Payable, Port Operations, Agency Accounting, and Procurement—to ensure cost accuracy, transparency, and adherence to internal processes and policies.
Background & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
· 3–7+ years of experience in cost control, auditing, or shipping/logistics operations (trade operations, documentation, sales, CCC, voyage ops, finance).
· Experience in global, multi-regional maritime operations is an advantage.
· Strong familiarity with cost structures, voyage processes, and invoice workflows.
