Material design is a key area within Tetra Pak. At Materials Solutions in Tetra Pak’s Development & Technology organisation we design materials for our customers’ current and future needs. We cover all development steps from identifying to validating material properties and solutions for openings, closures and packages.

Delivering on company strategy pillars, we put a lot of our work looking into new technologies to build then industrialize the next generation of sustainable packaging materials with best quality and differentiating features. Identify and define material properties and the architecture for the future packaging material is the core of future material developments!

We are looking for new colleagues to join the teams “New Material Opening & Closures”, “Applied Material Solutions” & “Next generation & Sustainable Material”.

All three positions will be based in Lund, Sweden. Some traveling will be required.

What you will do

As a Development Engineer you will be joining the teams that have the responsibility to develop sustainable materials technologies and products. Your main task will be to drive development of packaging material and/or materials for openings and closures. This means working with new sustainable materials, new shapes, sizes, functionalities and with a focus on the material quality

As our new colleague, you will:

  • Drive development of material solutions in studies, technology development as well as in product development activities close to market.
  • Be part of a cross-functional Scrum team and work closely with labs, converting factories and specialists.
  • Independently, as well with your technical team, build knowledge, solve problems, and verify solutions.

We believe you have

  • Educational background with a Master of Science related to materials. Preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least some years of working experience within material development preferably from the industry.
  • Collaborative mindset with quality in quality focus
  • An engagement to drive sustainability activities is a must
  • Very good command of English, both written and verbal is a must
  • Experience from working in an agile way is considered a plus.

You are curious and collaborative, and you have the ability to deliver desirable results. We believe that you are a clear communicator and good at building effective relationships with others.

Furthermore, you can adjust to the situation and comfortably handle risk and uncertainty. In addition, you have the interest and ability to handle the big picture in deliverables at the same time as being interested in technical details.
