Job Description – QA/Test Engineer

As a QA/Test Engineer at Cyber Instincts AB, you will oversee and drive the successful execution of QA/testing initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring that products and services are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality. Key responsibilities will include:

• Manual and Automated Testing: Plan, design, and execute comprehensive test cases for web, mobile, and desktop applications, leveraging both manual and automated testing strategies.

• Test Framework Development: Build and maintain modular testing frameworks that streamline test automation and reporting processes.

• Bug Tracking & Reporting: Identify, document, and communicate software defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.

• SQL and Database Verification: Utilize SQL to validate data integrity, run queries, and analyze backend functionality as part of the testing process.

• Performance & Security Testing: Conduct performance, load, and security testing to ensure application robustness under real-world conditions.

• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure software quality objectives are met.

• Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices to continuously enhance testing processes.

Required Skills:

• Proven Experience: 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA roles, with a track record of ensuring high-quality software delivery.

• Technical Proficiency: Experience with testing frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Postman, or equivalent.

• Programming Skills: Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar) for test automation.

• Strong SQL Skills: Advanced knowledge of SQL for validating and verifying application data.

• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze software, identify defects, and propose actionable improvements.

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Fluency in English: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

• Agile & DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

• Experience with Cloud Services: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for testing cloud-based applications.

• Performance & Security Testing Tools: Knowledge of tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or OWASP ZAP.

• Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, effectively communicating ideas and test results.
