The aim of the initiative is to phase out the use of coal and to virtually eliminate carbon dioxide emissions in the steel industry, corresponding to about 10% of Sweden's total CO2 emissions. On August 31, 2020, the pilot plant for direct reduction of iron ore with hydrogen was commissioned and in August 2022, the pilot plant for storage of fossil-free hydrogen was commissioned. The HYBRIT technology, validated and optimized over several years of development with very promising results, will now be used and further developed in industrial applications on a larger scale. Read more at: www.hybritdevelopment.se/en Position As Team Leader Direct Reduction you will take a leading role in the technical development of a fossil-free direct reduction technology based on hydrogen. The goal with the development activities is to achive optimum process and product performance in a production plant for hydrogen reduction. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead process development and engineering activities within the Hybrit joint venture company
  • Actively drive and participate in the technical development of new process and product concepts, including planning and hands-on execution of experimental pilot trials, analysis of process and product performance, identification of performance improvements
  • Translate development results through process engineering for industrial production plants
  • Contribute to the development of digital tools and process control principles for optimum production performance
  • Support and inspire colleagues
  • Share and document results and know-how
  • Lead and coordinate for the direct reduction process team including planning of future activities
Qualifications
  • Senior experience (+5 years) with metallurgical process development and engineering.
  • Proven leadership and people skills
  • Industrial experience in metals, alternatively mining & minerals sector.
  • Experience with commissioning, operation with direct reduction plants is advantageous
  • Excellent writing and communication in English and Swedish
